[MNVTravelsharing] Koh Lipe Trip (Planning & Itinerary)
MnV always heard good comments and review on Koh Lipe from few friends visited the island. "The crystal clear water and the sunrise were not comparable to those other winning island such as Bali, Perhentian etc..". We had visited Koh Lipe and would like to share our experiences here
Planning (4D3N)
Departure to Langkawi :-
Air Ticket - Advise to plan in advance as ticket to langkawi can be quite expensive sometime. Cheapest we can get is RM50 for return tickets. we opted for AirAsia (KUL-LGK) fly in the morning and arrived Langkawi at 9.05am. To our surprise, the plane was quite full. Our flight was delayed due to unforeseen circumstances of unable to locate some travelers' luggage. We are lucky because we plan to stay a night in Langkawi. If you plan to transit to jetty at the same day to catch your ferry to Koh Lipe, make sure you have sufficient time for the transit, else you will definitely miss your ferry.
Hotel- always compare prices with hotel website, Agoda and Booking.com. Sometimes, you will be surprised that hotel offer better price than others. We explored a new hotel this round and booked via their website - Dayang Bay Serviced Apartment & Resort (http://www.dayangbayresort.com/). We stayed in Studio seaview room. The studio only has a room (double bed) a separated bathroom, living room (sofa can be transformed to sofa bed) and outdoor simple kitchen in balcony with seaview. MnV would rate this hotel as 3/5, the room is average but clean, super big swimming pool but no beach side.
Car rental- It is always good to rent a car or motorbike if you plan to tour around the island. There is teksi service available, but it will not be worthy if you are planning for point-to-point visit. Due to the super peak season, MnV almost unable to secure a car for this trip. So, please pre-book your transport earlier for peak season. Finally, after a few round of finding we managed to secure a Myvi with a new company.

Departure to Koh Lipe from Langkawi:-
Ferry booking - There are 2 jetties in Langkawi with boat service to Koh Lipe - Kuah Jetty and Telaga Terminal. We choose Telaga Terminal as Kuah Jetty could be quite crowded as the main jetty for Langkawi.

There are 2 trips to Koh lipe everyday. We took Trip 1 for both ways. You need to plan your time well if you have flight to catch at the same day (ie please allocate about 2-3 hours in between of ferry and flight transfer)
Itinerary
Day 1
8:30AM - Depart Langkawi from KLIA2
10:00AM - Collect rented car at Langkawi Airport
10:30AM - Breakfast at The Loaf, Telaga Harbour Park
12:00PM - Lunch at Fish Farm Restaurant (www.fishfarmlkw.com)
2:00PM - Check-in Hotel
4:00PM - Depart to Gunung Raya (spectacular view from the hill top of Langkawi island)
6:00PM - Dinner at Unkaizan Japanese Restaurant (Must try Japanese food in Langkawi! They open at 6pm. We hardly get a table even we are there at 6pm. So book before you go. For more details, you may refer to our Unkaizan post in previous blog post)
8:00PM - Drinking time at Yellow Beach Cafe, Pantai Tengah (Outdoor seating at beach side with seaview)
Day 2
6:30AM - Depart to Telaga Terminal, Telaga Harbour Marina (need to check in 2.5 hours before departure)
Steps by Steps check-in:
1) Fill up the immigration form they provided
2)Wait until the check in counter open at 8am, queue up and submit your passport, immigration form and ticket for their collection. One representative for the group is sufficient to process all documents. (Passport will be kept by them for processing)
3)Depart to the lower platform (near to the boat terminal side) for departure.
4)Depart to Malaysia custom department at a building nearby (after Petronas). They will show you the direction. (Stamped passport should be collected here)
5) Wait for departure at the platform again
6)Queue up for boarding (at this point, your passport will be collected and kept by the staff)
7)Enjoy your boat trip of 1.5 hours
9:30AM - Depart to Koh Lipe
(Koh Lipe time zone is 1 hour behind Malaysia)
10:00AM - Arrive at Koh Lipe (there is no pier for speedboat to park at Koh Lipe. Koh Lipe long tail boat transfer is included for transfer to koh lipe beach side)
*Reminder : avoid big case luggage, long pants, sport shoes. You will get in touch with water when you come down from tail boat. For big luggage, the crew will carry and transfer to beach side for you.
10:20AM - Thailand Immigration Checking.
Steps by Steps :-
1) After collected luggage from the beach side, wait for your name to be called for passport collection (it is very informal type of custom, so be adaptable!)
2)After passport collection, queue up for immigration stamping.
3)After stamp, take your passport and you are done.
11:00AM - Check in Harmony Bed and Bakery Hotel (Normally hotel will provide shuttle. Just check with staffs at custom area, your hotel name will be called)
12:00PM - Lunch along restaurant in Walking Street. Our hotel is just 2 mins walking distance to walking street.
2:00PM - Massage (the price is standard for all massage standard along the street)
5:30PM - Dinner at The Cliff (we have shared more details on restaurant in separate post)
Day 3
6:30AM - Sunrise watching at sunrise beach. The beach is just opposite our hotel. There is a shortcut to walk through those local housing area and rented bungalow to access to the beach side (5 mins walking).

Day 4
8:00AM: Check in at Thailand Immigration
Steps by Steps check-in:
1)Wait until the check in counter open at 8am, queue up and submit your passport, immigration form and ticket for their collection. (Passport will be kept by them for processing)
2) Your name will be called for passport collection.
3)Queue up for thailand immigration stamping (Passport will be collected and kept by the staff)
3) Queue up for long tail boat transfer to ferry. Luggage to be carry along.
10:30AM: Depart for Langkawi
(Koh Lipe time zone is 1 hour behind Malaysia)
1:30PM (Malaysia timezone) : Arrive at Telaga Terminal Langkawi
Steps by Steps :-
1)Depart to Malaysia custom department at a building nearby (after Petronas). They will show you the direction.
2)Your name will be called outside for passport collection
3)After collected passport, queue up for Malaysia Immigration Stamping
2:00PM - Depart to Langkawi International Airport (The taxi fee is standard cost RM 30 per way).

Your blog is very informative. Eating mindfully has been very hard for people these days. It's all because of their busy schedules, work or lack of focus on themselves. As a student I must admit that I have not been eating mindfully but because of this I will start now. It could help me enjoy my food and time alone. Eating mindfully may help me be aware of healthy food and appreciating food.
